What's a gut crunch?
A gut crunch is similar to a sit up, except your lower back doesn't leave the floor. It's a great exercise to activate and work your core muscles. A crunch begins with lying face up on the floor with your knees bent. The movement begins by curling your shoulders towards your pelvis. Your hands can be behind or beside your neck or crossed over your chest.
We've asked Rich Ellis, 2016 Personal Trainer of the Year, to run you through three versions of a gut crunch.

Please make sure you complete your gut crunches in a safe manner, as injury can be caused by pushing against your head or neck with your hands.
